Dr. Mehdy Rad, a dedicated orthodontist, is passionate about helping his patients achieve a beautiful, healthy, straight smile. He loves the challenges and rewards of being an orthodontist, and looks forward to answering your questions and working with you throughout your treatment.
Dr. Rad grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, just outside Boston. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Boston University with a major in ethical philosophy and minors in biology and chemistry. Dr. Rad obtained his dental degree from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating on the Dean's list. For his externship rotation, he practiced at the dental clinic on Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico.
Following his dental training, Dr. Rad attended a one-year residency in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry at Boston Medical Center where he was given the Clinical Excellence Award. He went on to specialize in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Boston University. While a student there, he was accorded the prestigious position of chief resident.
Dr. Rad is committed to staying up to date on the most current technology. His participation in continuing education enables him to offer patients the most advanced treatment options. He serves as an associate clinical professor in the department of orthodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. In addition, Dr. Rad lectures locally and nationally on a broad range of topics related to orthodontics.

Outside the practice, it's all smiles for Dr. Rad!
Dr. Rad lives in Potomac with his wife Carolina and daughter Isabella. He enjoys spending as much quality time with his family as possible, sharing smiles and creating happy memories.
In his spare time, he enjoys kite-boarding, snowboarding, bicycle racing, soccer, and playing the guitar.
